Job Description

A full-time Special Education Teacher position is available at an elementary school serving students in grades K-5. This role focuses primarily on supporting students with language and articulation needs and includes involvement with an autism program requiring additional support.

Location:

• Stamford, Connecticut

Responsibilities:

• Develop and implement individualized education plans (IEPs) tailored to students with diverse learning needs, specifically focusing on language and articulation.
• Provide targeted instruction and interventions for students with special education needs, including those in an autism support program.
• Collaborate with general education teachers, speech therapists, and other support staff to promote inclusive learning environments.
• Monitor student progress and adjust teaching strategies to meet individual goals.
• Maintain accurate records, documentation, and compliance with state special education regulations.

Qualifications:

• Valid Connecticut Special Education (CT SPED) certification.
• Experience teaching elementary students, particularly K-5.
• Strong background in addressing language and articulation challenges.
• Familiarity with autism spectrum disorder programs and strategies.
• Effective communication and collaboration skills with students, parents, and team members.
• Ability to work full-time preferred; part-time consideration possible.
