Position Overview
Indoor Comfort is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Master Electrician to join our HVAC team in Ann Arbor, MI. This role is responsible for leading the electrical component of all HVAC installations, service, and maintenance work. The Master Electrician will supervise a team of electricians, ensure compliance with electrical codes, and provide final sign-off on all electrical work associated with residential and commercial HVAC systems.
This is a leadership position requiring both technical expertise and strong team management skills, with a focus on quality, safety, and customer satisfaction.
Key ResponsibilitiesTeam Leadership & Supervision
- Lead, mentor, and supervise a team of electricians and HVAC technicians performing electrical work.
- Assign tasks, review work for quality and safety, and provide ongoing training and development opportunities.
- Ensure the team adheres to company policies, safety standards, and electrical codes.
Electrical Work Oversight
- Perform and oversee electrical installations and upgrades for HVAC systems, including wiring, panels, and controls.
- Provide technical guidance to the team during complex electrical tasks.
- Sign off on all electrical work associated with HVAC installations and maintenance calls.
Project Management
- Coordinate with project managers, installers, and service technicians to ensure seamless integration of electrical and HVAC work.
- Review plans and blueprints to ensure code compliance and optimal system performance.
- Monitor progress, troubleshoot issues, and provide solutions to keep projects on schedule and within budget.
Compliance & Safety
- Ensure all work complies with local, state, and national electrical codes (NEC) and safety regulations.
- Maintain up-to-date knowledge of industry standards, regulations, and best practices.
- Conduct regular safety inspections and enforce proper safety procedures across all projects.
Customer Service
- Serve as a technical resource for clients, answering questions and providing guidance on electrical aspects of HVAC systems.
- Inspect and troubleshoot electrical problems during maintenance visits to ensure efficient resolution.
Qualifications
- Licensed Master Electrician in the State of Michigan.
- Minimum of 5–7 years of experience in residential or commercial electrical work, preferably in the HVAC industry.
- Proven leadership experience managing a team of technicians or electricians.
- Strong knowledge of HVAC electrical systems, wiring, and control systems.
- Excellent problem-solving, organizational, and communication skills.
- Ability to read blueprints, schematics, and technical drawings accurately.
- Commitment to safety, quality, and customer satisfaction.
Preferred Skills
- Experience with high-efficiency HVAC systems and smart controls.
- Knowledge of energy codes and green building standards.
- Familiarity with service management software and digital work order systems.

Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $90,000.00 - $110,000.00 per year
