Lead technicians build upon the skills and job responsibilities of the pharmacy technician and are focused on being a role model, mentor, and guide to the pharmacy team.The Pharmacy Technician Lead participates in leadership duties and tasks assigned by the pharmacy management team to contribute to meeting the mission and goals of Essentia Health as well as the requirements of accrediting bodies and other applicable federal, state, and local regulatory agencies. Assists with the hiring, orientating, scheduling, and billing as warranted.

Education Qualifications:

Required Qualifications:

• Minimum of 4160 hours of pharmacy technician experience
• Proficient with the Microsoft Office suite (Outlook, Word, Excel)
• Practices at a site with a minimum of 4 pharmacy technician positions per lead. The lead position does not contribute to the 4 nor does casual or float/rotating staff

Preferred Qualifications:

• Competent in applicable USP chapters (i.e. 795, 797, 800) preferred
• Working knowledge of Essentia Health drug procurement platform preferred
• Knowledge of 340B basic principles preferred

Licensure/Certification Qualifications:

Required Certification/Licensure:

• Registered as a pharmacy technician in Minnesota or Wisconsin (may provide pending registration for WI)
• Possess a current Certified Pharmacy Technician (CPhT) from Pharmacy Technician Certification Board (PTCB) or the National Healthcareer Association (NHA)
• Must maintain registration(s) and certification(s) for the duration of employment
• Ongoing continuing education and license renewal as required by the state's Board of Pharmacy.
