Job Description

A law firm seeks a Labor and Employment Attorney to join its Walnut Creek, CA office. The successful candidate will have experience in public agency law and a strong passion for labor and employment matters.

Duties

• Provide counsel to public school districts and other public agencies.
• Draft employment contracts and handle hiring processes.
• Engage in collective bargaining and address contract grievances.
• Manage cases involving discrimination, retaliation, and misconduct.
• Oversee layoffs, discipline, and dismissals.

Requirements

• Five to seven years of experience practicing as an attorney.
• Experience in administrative hearings is a plus.

Education

• Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.

Certifications

• Active membership in the California State Bar.
