Our client, a leading regional bank in Middlesex County, NJ, is seeking to add a Staff Auditor to their team. The ideal candidate must have 2+ years of audit experience, preferably within a large bank, community bank, or regional bank, and must come from a financial services background. A strong understanding of internal controls and regulatory frameworks such as SOX, BSA, AML, and other banking laws is required. Candidates should have hands-on experience with both internal and external audits, particularly in testing financial controls for SOX compliance and identifying control weaknesses or process inefficiencies. CPA or CIA certification is strongly preferred.

Responsibilities include:

• Conduct audit procedures across business units and branches, including planning and executing fieldwork such as walkthroughs, control testing, and transaction sampling, under the guidance of senior auditors or audit managers.
• Document audit work in accordance with IIA standards and internal methodologies, support SOX/ICFR testing, and assist in preparing audit findings, risk assessments, and actionable recommendations.
• Identify control weaknesses and process inefficiencies, participate in follow-up audits, stay current on regulatory changes and policies, and maintain audit independence and objectivity throughout all assignments.

Requirements:

• 2+ years of prior relevant experience
• Bachelor’s degree
• CPA or CIA is a plus
