Qualifications

We’re seeking a Front-End Web Developer with strong WordPress expertise to help create dynamic, content-rich digital experiences for our clients. In this role, you’ll be responsible for building and modifying websites, testing programs in development, and troubleshooting issues in production environments.

You’ll collaborate closely with our client services teams, designers, and writers to architect innovative, scalable web solutions that align with strategic goals. The ideal candidate is technically skilled, a strong communicator, a collaborative team player, and a proactive problem-solver who values thoughtful planning, innovation, and purposeful design.

Specific responsibilities include the following:

- Develop and maintain the front-end code for web applications.

- Build and style responsive WordPress websites based on designs provided by the creative team.

- Manage hosted websites and domains, in accordance with ongoing maintenance contracts.

- For projects requiring CMS handoff to clients, create user-friendly page and module templates using custom themes or visual page builders, such as Divi or Elementor.

- Code HTML5 emails and display ads using assets provided by the creative team.

- Collaborate with UI designers and contribute to the overall design review process of digital products to ensure successful and effective implementation.

- Collaborate with content writers to apply SEO best practices, including meta tags, descriptions, and titles.

- Ensure compliance with GDPR best practices, maintain baseline ADA accessibility standards (e.g., alt text, heading hierarchy, color contrast, etc.), and research and implement advanced solutions to meet greater levels of ADA requirements as outlined by the WCAG.

- Implement client-side development best practices to optimize performance, interactivity, and tracking.

- Debug, test, and optimize web applications for performance across modern devices and browsers.

- Develop and maintain reusable code libraries and standards.

- Effectively manage project timelines and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.

- Stay current with industry best practices, web standards, and emerging trends.

 

Requirements

  • Minimum five years’ WordPress development experience.
  • Experience developing front-end code and creating front-end solutions.
  • Experience designing and developing with Elementor for WordPress.
  • Experience managing hosted website environments on a hosting platform such as WP Engine.
  • Proficient with the latest versions of HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and PHP
  • Familiarity with inspecting design elements in Figma and Adobe design programs
  • Strong Photoshop and image optimization skills.
  • Strong understanding of user experience design.
  • Experience with SEO Meta tag implementation.
  • Experience with Google Analytics.
  • Familiarity with Google Tag Manager.
  • Experience with mobile development is a plus.
  • Experience with e-commerce implementation and Google merchant center a plus.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills.
  • Strong interpersonal skills to optimize relationships.
  • Ability to work independently.
  • Detail-oriented and highly organized.

· Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science/Information Systems or related degree.
