Job Summary

The Group Event Planner serves as a key strategic and operational leader responsible for managing, coordinating, and executing all aspects of conferences, meetings, and special events held at Kellogg Conference Hotel. This highly visible role requires a guest-centric professional with strong communication, organizational, and leadership skills who ensures every detail of each event exceeds client expectations while maximizing hotel revenue.

 

The Event Planner maintains full ownership of the client relationship from turnover through execution and follow-up, working across hotel departments to ensure seamless service and a five-star guest experience. With a focus on creativity, upselling, and efficient planning, the Event Planner plays a critical role in driving financial performance, guest satisfaction, and repeat business.

 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Organize and manage all logistical aspects of events including menus, room setups, AV, décor, entertainment, and staffing needs.
  • Develop and execute client proposals, BEOs, group resumes, and rooming lists in accordance with hotel SOPs and timelines.
  • Conduct site tours, pre-conference meetings, and room checks to ensure readiness and quality.
  • Serve as the onsite contact during events to ensure flawless execution and address any real-time needs.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Hospitality Management, Event Planning, or a related field required.
  • CMP, CPCE, or CWP designation preferred
  • Minimum 3–5 years of hotel or conference center event planning experience.
  • Proven experience managing high-volume, multi-day, multi-room programs
  • Self-starter with strong initiative and ownership mindset.
  • Ability to lead cross-functional teams toward successful event execution.
  • Natural relationship-builder and skilled client advocate.
  • Calm under pressure and solution-oriented.
