Under the direction of the Director and Associate Director of the Special Education Division (SED), the Education Administrator I oversees the Early Childhood Support Unit (ECSU). Responsibilities include providing leadership in state and federal special early childhood education administration, policy, and programming; offering managerial direction; and supervising education program consultants, analysts, and support staff who support educational programs for children with disabilities ages zero to five. The role also involves managing and directing staff to support Local Education Agencies (LEAs) in achieving goals related to the State Performance Plan/Annual Performance Report (SPP/APR) Part B indicators 6, 7, and 12. Additionally, the Education Administrator I collaborates with technical assistance providers and other Divisions to support early childhood special education initiatives and ensure alignment with best practices, federal, state, and regulatory compliance requirements.

STATEMENT OF QUALIFICATIONS

3. Describe your experience and knowledge in interpreting and implementing policy and regulations related to special education, including early childhood special education, and your experience working with other agencies and divisions on these matters.
