Job Description

Project Overview: The Data Steward will support the Enterprise Data Governance Project, aiming to manage client's data as an asset. This role involves enabling data stewardship, improving data quality, increasing data security, simplifying data integration, and establishing better audit trails.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Define ownership and accountability of critical data assets.
  • Conduct data discovery interviews with business and IT stakeholders.
  • Identify data sets, develop data flows, and understand data-related processes.
  • Update Enterprise Data Flow diagrams and Data Catalog inventory.
  • Create Application Playback decks and Data Discovery reports.
  • Ensure the success of Data Stewardships across Business Units.
  • Onboard and educate Data Stewardship Committee (DSC) members.
  • Operationalize the Business Glossary into the Collibra Data Governance tool.
  • Plan and execute monthly Data Governance Committee meetings.
  • Collaborate with the Data Quality Lead to integrate data governance solutions.
  • Execute workshops to collect business data processes.
  • Liaise with key stakeholders on ongoing data quality operations.
  • Develop and execute Change Management plans for data governance initiatives.

Mandatory Skills:

  • Strong knowledge of Data Governance & Quality policies, processes, and tools.
  • Experience as a technical data steward.
  • Understanding of specific and utility industry terms.
  • Proficiency in using the Collibra Data Governance tool.
  • Ability to conduct data discovery interviews and collaborate with stakeholders.
  • Skills in identifying data sets, developing data flows, and understanding data processes.
  • Experience with data quality tools and integrating data governance solutions.
  • Ability to develop and execute change management plans.

Education & Certifications:

  • Undergraduate degree in Engineering, Computer Science, Data Management, or a similar field. A graduate degree is preferred.
  • 5+ years of demonstrated data governance or data quality experience.
  • Minimum of Level 1 Certification in Collibra required, higher-level certifications preferred.
