Job Summary/Basic Function


Under the supervision of the Assistant Director of Fraternity and Sorority Life, the Intern for Fraternity and Sorority Life will develop and implement programs and resources for students and fraternities/sororities to move the office's initiatives forward. The Intern will act as a resource and advocate for students, fraternal organizations, mental health initiatives, and student activities.

Required Qualifications

  • Acceptance into a Millersville University Graduate program.
  • An understanding of fraternities, sororities, and community development. Membership in a social fraternity or sorority is preferred.
  • Commitment to equity and inclusion.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Excellent organizational, administrative and planning skills.
  • Technology and web-design experience.
  • Ability to work non-traditional/irregular hours as needed.
  • Demonstrated passion and support for all students.
  • Experience designing programs and working with diverse populations.
  • Knowledge of current issues and needs related to student leaders, student organizations and student activities.
  • Ability to balance collaborative and independent work.
  • Must complete 3 required clearances (PA Criminal Background, Child Abuse History, and FBI Fingerprints).

Job Duties

  • Assist the Assistant Director of FSL with overall administration of the University's Fraternity and Sorority Life program
  • Serve as an advisor for Greek Governing councils- Panhellenic Council (PC), Interfraternity Council (IFC), Cultural Greek Council (CGC) and All Greek Council
  • Act as a liaison between the Fraternity and Sorority Life and University community as well as potential parents and their students
  • Assist with the coordination of the fraternity/sorority community activities calendar.
  • Assist in the planning and implementation of FSL leadership retreats and conferences.
  • Plan and implement FSL leadership workshops.
  • Development of social media campaigns and management of the Office's social media accounts
  • Attend and provide supervision of students at regional leadership conferences.
  • Plan and host two mental health-based programming to assist FSL leaders on how to manage involvement and schoolwork.
  • Meet with FSL Presidents and students periodically to check in on their well-being.
  • Assist FSL members with confrontation and conflict management with one another when situations arise.
  • Assist in the planning of Hazing Prevention programs.
  • Plan and host a drug and alcohol prevention program to assist FSL leaders on peer pressure and overdose.
  • Host drop-in hours in the FSL office for FSL students to have a safe space to conversate and destress.
  • Aid in assessment projects and data reporting.
  • Other duties as assigned.
