Job Description

Our Accounting Project Specialist (APS) is a client-facing role responsible for the critical first steps in new client relationships. The APS cleans up clients’ books, standardizes accounting processes, builds month-end close checklists, and shares knowledge throughout the firm. The APS leverages a strong foundation in accounting, QuickBooks Online software savvy (and beyond), and deep passion for problem-solving to ensure accounting records are accurate and streamlined. The APS’s work provides the foundation upon which SNS’s services are built.

What is Series Next Solutions?

We get business owners out of the Finance seat using data-driven Finance and Accounting solutions to do more with less. Put otherwise, we are an outsourced finance and accounting function for $2mm-$10mm revenue companies. Our fractional CFOs lead our client relationships, but they rely heavily on our internal accounting and analysis teams to build tools and processes that make our relationships run.

What is SNS looking for?

Here’s how we would describe ideal candidates for the Technical Accounting Specialist role:

  • Analytical thinker : Ability to identify patterns to solve complex problems.
  • Process-oriented : Naturally inclined toward building and adhering to processes.
  • Technologically inclined : Knack for using software to unlock process efficiencies.
  • Sees the forest and the trees : Possesses a balanced approach to details-focus versus big picture thinking.
  • Logical reasoning : End-to-end thinker able to use deductive logic to grasp how the APS’s part of the process will impact the services SNS provides.

Wants it:

  • Problem solver : Loves challenging puzzles and making problems go away.
  • Structured : Motivated by deadlines and project-based work.
  • The only constant in life is change : Energized by the fresh challenges encountered with every new client. Leverages previous experience but seeks continued improvement.
  • Client service : Passionate about getting business owners out of the finance seat.

Has the capacity to do it:

  • Advanced QBO competency (3+ years’ experience)
  • Proficiency with accounting fundamentals, including payroll accounting
  • Effectively manages competing priorities

  • Has worked in an EOS or similar environment (nice to have)

This role reports to the Director of Operations, who used to work in this role and is intimately familiar with its requirements. As such, there will be plenty of training and mentorship available to this person.

Client Onboarding (80%)

  • Accounting Clean-ups (40%)
  • Transition Customer Chart of Accounts to SNS Standards (16%)
  • Build Close Checklist (16%)
  • Onboard SNS Bookkeeping (8%)

Be the QBO Expert/Teacher (40%)

  • Training Internal Team and Sometimes Clients (6%)
  • Converting QB Desktop to QB Online (2%)
  • Troubleshooting issues in QBO (12%)
  • Obtain and Maintain QBO ProAdvisor (1%)

Next Steps:

  1. Submit an application.
  2. When we receive your application, we will send a link to an assessment, which will take approximately 20 minutes. All applicants must complete this step to be considered.

We will review applications on a rolling basis, and only applications that follow all stated instructions will be considered . This position offers $50,000 to $60,000, commensurate with experience. SNS also offers a generous benefits package, including health insurance, dental, vision, 401(k), and short-term and long-term disability. The APS will be an integral part of our team and would be able to stay at least two years.
